STAPLE CLAW: The longer, more pointed claw gives better access for prying out staples. STRIKING FACE: The flat surface is less prone to chipping and deformation than a serrated surface; hit the striking face with a hammer to drive the claw under a staple. STAPLE STARTER: Use the two jaw openings to hold a staple in place and drive it with a hammer; start a staple with one hand by gripping it in the upper jaws and swinging it into the post. WIRE SPLICER: Use the top and bottom jaws to isolate two strands of wire for splicing or separating; the bottom jaws are large enough to grip and twist multiple strands of wire. STAPLE AND NAIL PULLER: The parallel jaws can grip the crown of a staple or the head of a nail and easily pry them out.

Best Fencing Pliers Bar-None

Five miles of barbed wire fencing to replace or repair, I purchased a pair of the TEKTON 10-1/2 Inch Fencing Pliers and another brand. It did not take long to see that the TEKTON Fencing Pliers by far out preformed the other pliers, hands down, they are excelled with both T-Posts and wooden post, so much so I purchased a second pair of the TEKTON 10-1/2 Inch Fencing Pliers and put the other pliers back in my toolbox. I would recommend the TEKTON pliers 100+%.

Excellent!!

Yeah, I know, they're fence pliers. But I have had several over the years from the store brand cheap ones to other brand names at similar or higher prices. These are the best! Lots of leverage, comfortable grip and the staple pulling notch in the end is an awesome feature - makes twisting wire sooo easy. I left them outside for several days with heavy dew and a little rain - they have NOT rusted like the other brands. If you need fence pliers - BUY THESE

I've been building and repairing fence for more than fifty years and after receiving these I was impressed enough to order a second one.

Substantial, with nice fit and finish

This is a very hefty plier that weighs significantly more than my blue handle fencing pliers. Ths hammer surface is also much larger. Compared to other brands I looked of similar design, the jaws that grip staples to pull them out are are sharper rather than blunt and should grip staples better. There is no play in the pivot and the plier is nicely finished. Unless the extra weight is an issue, there is nothing not to like here. I have not used the plier so the durability rating is based mostly on the mass of the plier and the expectation that staples, nails, and fence are pretty soft iron.

Just like the old days

Finally I have found a pair of fencing pliers that are as good as the ones I grew up with many years ago. Might even be better. Th y actually do everything they are supposed to. I especially like that the claw is split at the end instead of the one point like most others these days. By being split it is so much easier to pull steeples. These are extremely well made. I wouldn’t trade this pair for 5 of the other brands.

Good enough

Didn't get to use these, thankfully! I hate working on fencing. Seems like they would've done the job if needed though. I'm happy but it could be just because I didn't have to use them.
